4 CMYK Colour Screen Print, I decided on doing the four colour print on to a white card, i had to print it onto white for the print to work but i wanted the concept packaging to be as close to honest packaging as it could be.

Step 1: cyan
Step 2: Yellow
Step 3: Magenta
Step 4: Black

MY FIRST FONT

Heres my first ever font that works, in the past I have made fonts that i would have to copy and paste over and over to make words, but never before have I made a type I could install and use in photoshop or word.
to download the font simply follow the link to the download site and download the zipped file, unzip the file install and type away.
note I have only created this in upper case, lower case maybe to come.

(z-share)

Art Work

The art work has taken me a round about about two weeks to produce all has been hand sketched then outlined with a fine liner. the outlined drawings are then scanned and taken into photoshop where they are cleaned up and desaturated.
The photoshop file is then imported into illustrator where i can trace the image before adding colour and tone.
The credits are typed using the font I have made for this project which i have entitled Handrun, the font is downloadable in the post to follow all other fonts used are hand drawn to fit the overall theme of artwork.
You can see how other illustrators have influenced me to draw this packaging.

Raymond Pettibon

Pettibon’s artwork appeared on flyers and records for Black Flag through the early 1980s, and he became well known in the Los Angeles punk rock scene. Black Flag singer Henry Rollins described Pettibon as quiet, something of a loner and an avid jazz fan; Rollins also said Pettibon, like his brother Greg, was profoundly hardworking and disciplined, sometimes producing dozens of drawings per day.

Pettibon suggested the name and also designed the band's logo: a stylized black flag represented as four black bars. Pettibon stated "If a white flag means surrender, a black flag represents anarchy." Their new name was reminiscent of the anarchist symbol logo.

you can see how this logo has influenced me to create the bold and simple logo for RUN.

Run Posters

Here we have my first four colour CMYK Print im really happy with how it has turned out.
I left these four prints that create the cmyk colour print, here they are in my bedroom I think they look pretty sweet in a row as a set.

William Crump

William Crump draws these magical and dreamy scenarios, using minimal colour and pencil. these images influence me to create non-fictional and creative illustrations to accompany the bold symbol of RUN.

KROPILAK BRANISLAV

KROPILAK BRANISLAV  has photographed these amazing billboards on plain clear sky backgrounds, he seems to pay particular detail to light and shape within his high detail and crisp photos.

thomas couderc

thomas couderc has used this beautiful coloured smoke to comment on the wooded backgrounds, this has created a sense of an odd and wonderful world within just a photo.
im really into this type of imaging and hope it will influence me to create something with in this artistic genre.

Chrissie Abbott

Chrissie Abbott's work is dark and futuristic, i like the use of shapes with in her images. i like the way she pays attention to detail in her print work, the images with in the print must be printed using halftone.

Ideas

The First thing that comes to mind with this brief is my love for print, i will combine this with my love for loud and fast music.
recently I've been doing work for a few bands, so i naturally i will take this chance to learn and extend on my print knowledge, using the print studios with support from the technicians and online resources.

I plan to create CD packaging and assisting promotional materials, the CD Packaging will be for my brothers band called RUN which i have done all the artwork for previously.

The previous art work has been influenced by the likes of black flag & minor threat. using the hardcore D.I.Y aesthetics, this is something i feel is very important with in this genre, and I intend to carry this through.

I hope this will comment on my portfolio and help me to locate a job in a design and print studio.
